Surrounding the house is a dense oak forest and the designer took complete advantage of the views outside as they form wonderful framed backdrops in the kitchen the dining room and the bedroom. An open-plan living area with a comfy sectional a corner fireplace and unassuming decor is visually connected with the garden outside. The master suite boys’ bedroom with twin beds and a stylish girl’s bedroom are housed on the top level.
While the exterior of the house is draped in wood the interior has a more modern appeal with concrete and glass being used in a balanced fashion. Adjoining the living room on the lower level is a beautiful dining space that is illuminated by the iconic Caboche Chandelier and the Arco-style floor lamp in the living room adds to the elegance of the space. The living area is visually connected with the large deck outdoors while a modern kitchen gaming room and utility space are located on the opposite side of this floor.
The draws inspiration from both the Anglo-Saxon heritage of the region while borrowing freely from the more popular trends of French Canada! The exterior of the modern residence was crafted using the same black slate found in the other homes of the area and the interior offers a stylish blend of glass wood and concrete.
A small balcony connected to the living area ensures that the interior is both airy and spacious in its appeal. Large glass windows and a steel frame also bring a touch of industrial style indoors while the rest of the home takes on a more modern look.
The ‘view’ is the most important aspect of the house and shaped its contours as architects from Gavin Maddock Design Studio ensured that every room of the home enjoys unabated access to the sight of the sand and the surf that is just a stone’s throw away.
